4 - Love Grows

“I grew up Pentecostal, Southern Baptist, and Assemblies of God. I’ve been religious my whole life. When I was in college I joined a cult called Chi Alpha - and they basically take the lonely and vulnerable and traumatize them. I was heavily involved and became a small group leader that recruited new members. There’s so much guilt that comes with being someone that played a role in that. But through this - I met a girl, and we became best friends. And one nightie kissed and it changed our lives. When we came out - every single person from that cult stopped talking to us. And the refused to take accountability for the damage they have cause so many lgbtq identifying ex-members. I don’t identify as Christian. I don’t really know who I am or what I am - but I know that I am happy. I am happy that I chose myself and what I wanted. And that I claimed my life back. And I am still figuring out my identity - and I have a beautiful woman beside me to help me.” -Lucy
